Westminster Council

Helping achieve net zero by 2040

Westminster has some of the highest carbon emissions and worst air pollution in the UK.

We designed and developed a brand which helped Westminster Council communicate their ambitious targets of becoming a carbon neutral council by 2030 and carbon neutral city by 2040. Working closely with the project team and senior council leadership we developed a series of logos, imagery and straplines which had to reflect their ambitions to residents, businesses and visitors.

The final device features a leaf graphic based on the curve of the River Thames which forms the border of the City of Westminster. It is supplemented by strong typography and a colour palette which reflects their aspirations of appearing vibrant and inspiring, professional but not municipal.

As well as the main logo and supporting guidelines we designed a range of collateral to be used in print, advertising and on their website and social media channels. This has enabled the council to communicate clearly and effectively as they strive to meet their environmental targets.

  • "We subsequently developed Westminster Council's city for all plan, building on our work for zero carbon 2040."
